Society for Rural Assistance to
India (SRAI) is a non-profit, non-sectarian, non-political organization
committed to economic and social development of rural areas of India. SRAI
believes that development refers primary to people and not merely of goods and
things. SRAI facilitates this process by providing seed money for worthy
projects and by empowering local people and villagers and making them aware of
resources.
The
purpose of SRAI is to study economic, social and cultural program in rural
areas of India and to promote ways and means to solve them. SRAI has provided
support in the past during the 2006 Tsunami and Orissa flood relief assistance. SRAI has
actively participated in following projects with number of institutions in
India. Here is the highlights of projects:
- Rama Charitable Arogyadham, Eye Hospital, Dwarka
- National Institute of Preventing Blindness-Eye Camps in Godhra & Panch Mahal District
- Valbhipur Sardar Charitable Trust- Building village road
