In 2001, Dwarka was known around the region not just for its deep religious history, but also for the Rama Charitable Arogyadham's regular eye camp that was held on it's hospital grounds. This eye camp served hundreds of thousands of impoverished villagers, who would trek from the nearby villages to receive low-to-no cost eye care that was previously unavailable. Unfortunately, due to the 7.7 Kutch Earthquake, many of the hospital and eye camp's facilities were destroyed.
Over the past decade, thanks to charitable contributions such as yours, a re-developed and more substantial hospital has been constructed, where medical professionals continue to provide preventive and curative eye care to those who need it the most. The Rama Charitable Arogyadham, a charitable trust, maintains
the eye hospital to provide these services to 145 surrounding villages reaching
over 140,000 impoverished villagers. Your support will enable the continued
development of this eye hospital where ophthalmologists
currently donate their time to provide medical services for those that have
preventable eye diseases.
The primary goal of this hospital has always been to treat preventable blindness at little to no cost. It houses a primary eye care unit to provide eye examinations, eye glasses, medical advice and eye surgery to those in the Dwarka region who cannot afford any other care.
Your entire donation will be used to provide medical equipment, eyeglasses, lenses and other eye-related medical equipment. In addition, net proceeds will be used to help perform cataract surgeries at no cost in order to treat preventable blindness. Medical care should not be limited to the privileged. Help change this and allow us to host you for our charity event.
